Avis Location voiture

I had been cycle touring for 5 weeks when my cycle buddy had an accident needing hospitalisation and stitches on a large cut to her leg and other lesser injuries, so we needed to get her and her bicycle back to the ferry port in Roscoff. I booked a vehicle with Avis on the internet, as they had a Branch in the nearby (to the ferry port of Roscoff) town of Morlaix. In the past I have always used Enterprise in England and Scotland as they always seem very professional. I turned up at the Avis Nevers branch on the Monday morning, after cycling 14km from Pouges Les Eaux for my 9.30am pick up. A greasy haired young man at the counter, when I gave him my reservation number, said that as I hadn't paid a deposit (which was never requested on the internet) the car I had booked had been given to someone else and there were no others available. I explained my situation and told him I was desperate to get any sort of vehicle to try and get my buddy home. The man was uninterested and didn't seem bothered at all to try and help, he didn't look to see if there was anything available the next day. He pretty much blanked me until I left saying that I'd best go and try Enterprise (he'd given me a post it note for them) but I'd already researched them and programmed them into my phone on the Saturday beforehand in case this happened. Thanks for nothing Avis. So I then cycled to the Enterprise Nevers branch (who had a Branch in Brest, not so close to Roscoff) I explained my situation to the wonderful Camille Monamy. Who told me that all her vehicles were also booked out. After a good 10 minutes of tapping on the computer she said that she could get a van for me at 2.30pm later that day. I booked it, wanting to pay for it there and then after my bad experience at the incompetent and useless Avis, but she assured me that everything was going to be fine, I cycled back to Pouges for lunch and a cup of tea and cycled back later. At 2.30pm Camille handed over the van keys and van. A simple handover. Thankyou, I then had to pick up my cycle buddy and her touring bicycle and bags and drive the 683km to Morlaix (half way that evening then the other half the next day), where I dropped her off at Roscoff Ferry port for a morning ferry on the 2nd morning of van hire, taking the van to be dropped off in Brest around lunchtime for a simple handover. None of this would have happened if Camille hadn't shown such compassion and humanity to help me/us out in a real time of desperate need and she hopefully realises how grateful we both are for her help in getting us any sort of vehicle, I hope that Enterprise management realise that this is the sort of above and beyond work ethic that is needed sometimes rather than the shrug of the shoulders and "not my job" attitude you get at Avis. I did have to cycle to Brest train station to get a train to Morlaix then ride to Roscoff but I can't complain as my friend got back home to convalesce as quickly as she could. Thanks again Camille. Just a car rental place. I have rented from here twice now and it's been ok. They do speak English reasonably well. Right across the street from the train station for convenience.

J’ai réservé ma voiture sur la plate-forme, Le monsieur n’a pas accepté sous prétexte que mon Permis n’est pas reconnue en France, et que je dois ramener avec moi, un permis international, en sachant que c’est pas ma première fois que je loue des voitures en France ou en Europe et avec cette entreprise. Cette personne assure qu’il reconnaît bien son travail et que ça fait 20 ans qu’il loue des voitures… je ne prends même pas la peine de vérifier ses propos J’ai aller à une autre agence Avis précisément à Bourges et j’ai loué une voiture là-bas. Il y a plus aucun doute pour l’attention de cette personne, En sachant que le monsieur n’a pas encore annuler ma location pour que je ne puisse pas reprendre mon argent j’essaye d’appeler la société et d’envoyer des mails mais personne ne répond… une vraie perte de temps et d’argent.

Depuis trois mois j'ai eu besoin d'utiliser des voitures de location, j'ai loué chez Avis à Nevers et me suis rendu plusieurs fois pour prolonger la location. Chaque fois que je venais en personne ou que je parlais à quelqu'un au téléphone, les gens à qui je parlais étaient sympathiques, professionnels et consciencieux. Tout s'est parfaitement déroulé car ils ont fait leur travail correctement. Je suis très reconnaissant.

L’équipe Avis est très sympathique. La récupération et le retour du véhicule sont très rapides. C’est parfait pour s’échapper de Paris en long week-end ou en vacances avec la gare SNCF juste à côté.

Aucun point d'attache sérieux dans le camion 10m3, pour un déménagement c'est inapproprié ! Pas de lave glace, ce qui peut être très dangereux, et le personnel très mal aimable au téléphone. De plus on ne peut connaître le prix du kilomètre hors forfait qu'après avoir réservé car personne n'est capable de nous le dire avant !
